The start of this week saw Lorus Consulting out on the fairways (at least for some of the time anyway) the first time this year.
Tuesday was the FT Golf Day, held at the London Club on the famous Heritage Course. James Blaydon, Founding Partner, took part of behalf of Lorus Consulting and thoroughly enjoyed the day. “The course was in absolutely superb condition and was a real test of golf. We managed to get off the course just before the heavens opened too! We have a long-standing relationship with the FT / Exec Appointments and it was great to catch up with so many familiar faces, some of which I hadn’t seen for a long time. I very much look forward to next year’s event”.
Wednesday was the Aldingbourne Trust’s (www.aldingbournetrust.co.uk) Golf Day held at the very scenic Cowdray Park Golf Club (www.cowdray.co.uk/golf-club). The Aldingbourne Trust is dedicated to helping local businesses, communities and people with learning disabilities to reach their potential and enjoy life, together. It works to unlock potential and enable adults with learning disabilities to lead enriched and fulfilling lives through education, training, specialist care and a keen focus on building strong partnerships with local businesses and employers.
Lorus Consulting was one of the day’s key sponsors and entered a team made up of Gordon Fraser and James Blaydon, Founding Partners, and two well-known clients local to the area. The best two stableford scores per team would count, off three quarter handicaps. The course was in fantastic condition and we again managed to avoid the worst of the rain. With all of Team Lorus contributing at important times throughout the round, we actually managed to win the event on count back with 84 points! Commenting on the day, Gordon Fraser said “We were only too pleased to be part of this fundraising event and to partner directly with the Aldingbourne Trust, who work tirelessly supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their potential across Sussex. It was a great event enjoyed by all and I was very pleased to learn of the amounts raised on the day. We will continue to support the trust in its fundraising efforts toward the new bespoke training and learning facilities, which will enable them a greater opportunity to engage with local businesses and local people”
